By RAYMOND MARTIN, Associated PressWalt Disney’s Moana has a big-screen movie tie-up coming soon to Disney XD.
It will be a big part of Disney XD’s upcoming animated series and will be made into a live-action TV series.
Disney XD is making a new live-TV series of Moana and a film adaptation of the book and movie is in the works, according to a Disney spokeswoman.
The company has not released a title yet.
Disney has also said it is working on an animated film based on Moana, which will be the first live-Action Disney XD feature.
Moana is set in a magical land full of fantastical creatures, with Moana herself and her tribe.
Disney is bringing in longtime animation executive producer Bill Mumy to write the script.
Disney, the biggest producer of live-streamed TV, has been trying to build up a presence on Netflix and Hulu for years, but has struggled to make much of an impact.
Moab’s new Moana film will have a bigger budget than the original Moana movie and will have to adapt a lot of existing Disney properties to fit in the live- action movie format.
It is unclear how much Moana will be shot in 3D.
