The book-selling technique used by Jurassic Park creators George Romero and Brian De Palma is getting a new iteration: a movie review book.
In a feature that premiered Monday night on Discovery, author Matt Stiles (Cars, The Hangover) is offering to review the newest installment in the “dinosaur movie” franchise, Jurassic World, for a special book called Jurassic Book.
“This book is not just for people who want to read Jurassic Book, it’s for everybody,” Stiles said in a statement.
“We are so excited to be able to share this book with the Jurassic Park community.”
In a recent interview with The Associated Press, Romero said he hoped his Jurassic Book book would inspire a new generation of dinosaur fans.
“It’s going to be something that we’ll be able look back on as being a milestone for the dinosaur world,” he said.
“I’ve never had the pleasure of working with anybody before, but I think the Jurassic Book is going to make Jurassic Park and Jurassic World look great.”
Stiles’ review will be published online for free, and is available in hardcover and Kindle formats.
The book will cost $10.99 and be available at Amazon, Barnes & Noble, Target and Apple’s iTunes store.
“I want this book to give a new meaning to the word dinosaur,” Stile said.
“What you see in the book is a young boy who’s discovering dinosaurs and his dad is teaching him how to read and write.
He’s really fascinated by them.
The dinosaurs are really cool.”
Stile said his review is the first time a dinosaur book has been offered to a public audience.
“We have this great team of scientists and animators, and the whole team is working hard on this book,” he told Discovery.
“This is a chance to bring this world to life.
I hope this book inspires people to come out and enjoy these great dinosaurs.”
